What’s so sexy about vampires? Sometimes those blood drinkers are too pale-traditionally they are dead-and they are often a bit arrogant. Snooty even. lol

On the plus side, you KNOW they know what they’re doing, they’d probably have some fascinating, historically accurate stories for…after…and man, do they have great soundtracks. Sexy sounds, hypnotic beats, and dark imagery that makes me long to nibble someone’s neck. NIN, Korn, and others usually spring to mind, but they aren’t the only ones to bring about those primal urges that make us want to drop our inhibitions, along with our garlic necklaces ;)

This one is my current favorite!-no doubt because I just finished watching season one-and because the song is damn sexy imo
I Wanna Do Bad Things With You-theme from Trueblood

Bloodletting-Concrete Blonde-this was my dear friend’s wedding song. She’s way cooler than I am. I danced to Frank Sinatra and Etta James lol

Though I believe Lestat’s violin scene on the beach was sexier, this vampire started his own band to make sure his message got across. Even making surreal videos. Has a bit of an ego, that one. :)

Back to The Hunger again…Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus, which is used in the opening of that film, always makes me think of vampires. You can see it here:

Self Control by Laura Branigan. Hands down. It’s atmospheric and the lyrics capture things well,

Not only that but Laura had the kind of deep raspy yet dynamic voice that could sell this song so well.

Definitely Bela Lugosi’s Dead and, of course, Night Of the Vampire with Roky Erickson… I think Entombed covered it, but you want the original Roky. Also Bad Moon Rising w Creedence Clearwater Revival.

And let’s not forget Rev 22:20 by Puscifer (Maynard James Keenan). It was on the Underworld soundtrack so it’s kind of a given, lol.

I was just working on one of my own vampire stories and the music that always comes to mind is Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre.

Fallon – I immediately thought of Annie Lennox’s video too – it was from the remake of Bram Stoker’s Dracula with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder – Francis Ford Coppola directed it.

Songs from Evanescence remind me of vampires. Depeche Mode – Waiting For The Night. Echo and the Bunnymen – Killing Moon

And as an aside – Stuart Townsend in Queen of the Damned was such a perfect Lestat – much better than that other actor – whatshisname. LOL.

Oh, I *love* those songs Jonathan Davis wrote and sang for Lestat in Queen of the Damned (“Forsaken”, “Slept So Long”, etc.). I got to see him perform them all live a couple of years back. Very gothic stage setting; it was incredible. JD can be my vampire. :)

My favorite is Annie Lennox, Love Song for a Vampire. But came across this one, and love the lyrics:

Those are some great songs. I especially like the last one – ‘Forsaken’ by Korn. I loved that Korn was actually in the movie as well. The scene with them made me smile.

As for additional songs that make me think of vampires, all of them from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. It is such an awesome soundtrack that I have a hard time picking one favorite from it. Some of my favorites are ‘Forsaken’, ‘System’ by Chester Bennington, ‘Down With The Sickness’ by Disburbed, ‘Cold’ by Static-X, ‘Body Crumble’ by Dry Cell, and ‘Before I’m Dead’ by Kidney Thieves.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention there was an unreleased track from those Queen of the Damned sessions called “Careless”. Jonathan from Korn wrote it along with “Forsaken”, etc., but it didn’t appear in the movie. He performed it live during his solo tour. I love it, and my vampy playlist isn’t complete without it… but then I love just about everything that man does!

Music, vampires and sexy! Okay, those three words have led me straight to the movie ‘Queen of the Damned’. That movie has some darn sexy music in it.

There’s one song in particular, that get’s my vampy juices flowing and gets me in ‘the mood’ — The song from the rose-petal bath and Lestat getting bitten by the Queen. HELLO!

That song is: Deftones — Change

BUT….
Sweet Dreams by Marylin Manson is a pretty good vampy song too!
