I’m absolutely thrilled to announce the release of EVERSONG, Book Four in my Midnight Playground vampire series! I’ve had so much reader mail about Ever, my favorite vampire! Of course I still adore Aleron and all the others, but something about Ever just gets to me-and to my readers, too, apparently. We’ve all been waiting for this book and it’s finally here, so I had to find a big way to celebrate! What better way to do it than by talking to Ever himself? Without further ado, here he is, my darling, wicked Ever.
Eden: Thank you so much for coming by the Smutketeers blog to talk with us today. What would you like readers to know about you?
Ever: Anything for you, my pet. I do love that you describe me as wicked. There is something wicked about vampires. I don’t mean intrinsically evil. We are not creatures from hell, as some may think-we are simply different. But it is more about our body chemistry than any spiritual matter. We are wicked by nature only in that we are more primitive, primal beings. We have an enormous lust for all things sensual, and that basic, animal nature means we don’t fight the powerful urge to pursue our desires, whether it’s for blood, decadent luxuries, or sex. Especially sex.
Eden: If you’re going to wink at me like that I’ll never be able to think straight enough to finish this interview! Where were we? Oh yes, the sex. You vampires are pretty open-minded when it comes to sex.
Ever: Sex is every bit as necessary for us as blood. Moreso, perhaps. I can go days without blood, but sex…only in the greatest depths of my lassitude have I gone even a day without the divine pleasures of the flesh, and that has happened to me only twice in my very long life. Sex for vampires is purely uninhibited. And pure in that we don’t see it as anything taboo, nothing connected to shame or inhibition. There is something beautiful in that kind of sex. I think it’s something mortals experience all too rarely.
Not all of us are prone to the more extreme kink, but many of us are, including myself, as you may have noticed. Again, I believe it’s that primal nature. And when you’ve lived for a few hundred years-or more, as in my case-it takes something a bit more extreme to keep us entertained. I don’t see that as a bad thing, do you?
Eden: Absolutely not. In fact, it may be one of my favorite things about you. But then, you are one of my favorite things.

Ever: You say that as if it’s something to be ashamed of. But you just said you like that about me.
Eden: (fanning self) Um…maybe we should get back to the interview?
Ever: Certainly.
Eden: Why don’t you tell us a little about your book, EVERSONG?
Ever: In EVERSONG I meet Mercy and Deo, a pair of fledgling vampires who were both created in an unsanctioned manner, Mercy by the rogue vampire Gauis, and Deo, in turn, by her. The Vampire Council, whom you’ll meet in this book, must decide if Mercy and Deo are to be punished for their crimes. I don’t believe they should be punished, and take them under my protection. And I swear it is not only because I find them both so exquisite, so irresistible. They are great beauties, both of them. But you will see that for yourselves…and how we hunt the evil Gaius, even as he hunts Mercy.
Eden: You mentioned the Vampire Council. What can you tell us about them?
Ever: These are the vampires who helped me create the Council and the Midnight Playground clubs all over Europe, and many of them will eventually have their own stories. They are a diverse group, all of them beautiful in the way vampires always are. I believe the first of Part Two in the Midnight Playground series will be Ramsey’s story, and his is a tragic tale which began several centuries ago in New Orleans, and ends in Madrid.
Eden: I can hardly wait to start writing those stories, but I have several books to finish first. While we’re waiting, maybe we should take a small peek at EVERSONG.

Mercy smiled, and Ever turned onto his back. She raised herself onto her arm, leaned in to kiss him softly on the mouth. She drew back to let Deo do the same. And felt lust squeeze deep in her body, cunt and belly and breasts, watching their mouths join.
