And now onto Day 2- See Contest below.
RG the Smutty Professor:
So some of you may or may not know this, but I studied ancient religions, mythology and anthro and archaeology in college. A long long time ago when I was younger and my brain worked properly :)
I was all set to be Lara Croft or Indiana Jones. To find the hidden clues or the connections that all of us share. And I did learn some amazing things. How some myths across the globe are so incredibly similar that they can be spooky. How some people, like the Mayans, Dogons and other ancient civilizations, knew about stars and planets we only found out about once we got some seriously advanced tech and sent probes into space. These people knew their shit…then of course, like we all do until we find a concrete, factual explanation or proof to the contrary, they used stories to explain what they were seeing. Those stories became myths and the myths became religions. Planets and dwarf stars were homes to the gods. The milky way was the womb of a mother goddess.
Its enough to set a writer’s imagination on fire.
So what profoundly important event might the Mayans actually have been pointing to? No clue. You might have an idea if you watch a lot of History or Discovery channel…or you might be really intrigued and moderately paranoid if you watch Ancient Aliens lol. Some believe it is a unique alignment of planets that only happens every twenty five thousand or so years (I’m bad at math lol). And sure, some believe that the Mayan’s just ran out of stone to write on. :) Many are sure that they did not mean the world was ending, but perhaps it would be changing. A new era.
Most are just plain fascinated by the fact that a civilization of people who lived so long ago created a calendar that lasted centuries after they were gone, that continued until now in 2012.
Some people just think the carving is pretty-which-come on now-it is.
Personally, I think nothing is written in stone…even if it is written in stone lol I think anything is possible, which is, I suppose, why I gravitate toward creating my own worlds and imagining what ifs. What if it were like our Wasteland series? What if it were like that Twilight Zone episode that Cookie favors- where awesome aliens come down, heal all diseases and offer you a ride in their ship which you accept…only to find out that their book To Serve Mankind is really a cookbook!! AAAAAAAHHHHH!!
Okay that’s probably not it. :)
We could look back at this year in 2020 and say, “Wow, that was a really important year.” Or we could just roll our eyes at yet another conspiracy theory in a long line of zany, end of the world prophecies.
You never can tell….
And now…if you didn’t fall asleep during the Professory lecture :)
Onto the books. Let’s Talk Series.
Eden Bradley has a couple you definitely want to check out.
I love her Edge series with Berkley Pleasure’s Edge, Desire’s Edge and Temptation’s Edge
Her Midnight Playground vampire series with Samhain: The Seeking Kiss, Bloodsong, The Turning Kiss , Eversong, and her prequel Ever the Turning
Smutketeer Robin L Rotham has a few series too. There is a reason I call her my Dirty Alien Farm Wife *wink*
As we talked about yesterday-there are her dirty dirty aliens. Alien Overnight, Enemy Overnight, and her next alien book in the series, Amorous Overnight will be out in 2013!!!
She also has her dirty dirty farm guys from the Carnal series. Carnal Harvest and Carnal Compromise. And yes, I’m pretty sure another Carnal will be in the works soon *G*
And now it is my turn. You know I’m a sucker for series. Everything from my Unborn vampire saga The COTG series with Regina in the Sun, Lux in Shadow, Twilight Guardian and Midnight Falls…to my Magian witches in Wicked Sexy, Wicked Bad and Wicked Release (with Wicked Dangerous coming around Feb of 2013), and Veiled Temptation series Lifting the Veil and Piercing the Veil (Behind the Veil should also be out around March 2013, with Veiled Temptation quickly following) There is also my Shifting Reality series with My Shifter Showmance, My Demon Saint and My Vampire Idol (January 2013)
See? I’m a series whore lmao
Four for Christmas is even a sequel to Three for Me?
And of course you all remember…since I mentioned it yesterday…The Smutketeers holiday series A Kinky Christmas Carol with Getting Scrooged, Not So Tiny Tim and Marley in Chains
***CONTEST***
This time two people have a chance to win a $10 Gift certificate for Amazon or B&N-all you have to do is once again pimp our Christmas series. If you don’t have FB or Twitter but you’ve read it, you can always add a review on Amazon, B&N or Goodreads. Also-post here and tell us how you are planning to celebrate Dec 21st. Will it just be another day? Will you get naked and drink wine while waiting for the end? Or something even more interesting? (We were planning on throwing a party here, with end of the world kits and zombie anti-virus etc. But with X-mas and all-its just been too crazy lol So now, I’m thinking of just cuddling on the couch and watching Deep Impact or Day After Tomorrow Lmao….sounds romantic huh?)
Winners will be picked tomorrow!!

Is it bad that I’m a little freaked out? The hype– it’s gotten to me! I’ll probably bake cookies to get my mind off of things– end of the world snickerdoodles

by Theresa Esterline December 20th, 2012 at 11:34 amMy husband and I watch the history and discovery channels all the time. It is extremely fascinating. I’m totally convinced that aliens had (have) a lot to do with our life on earth. I don’t think it’s going to end tomorrow, but it may mean the start of some important changes.
by catslady December 20th, 2012 at 11:34 am
I’ll still be sitting at home watching the history channels lol. Waiting to see if anything actually happens. Plan to watch a new history show on the forgotten history in the country on history channel international.
by venetia Marshall December 20th, 2012 at 11:45 amAlas–it will be just another day for me : Work and then home :)
On a lighter note though..I think my son is a little confused..He came home yesterday and said: Mom…you don’t have to be worried about Friday” and I said” what are you talking about?” He say” You know Friday–it’s the Zombie Apocolypse..” Me”well, that’s nice, but why don’t I have to be worried?” Him-” well the way I figure is they eat brains and dad says sometimes you act like you don’t have any….plus we have like 4 chainsaws” Then he walks off….Needless to say the hubby is in for it when he gets back from his trip :)
Sorry this was so long, I just had to share though!

Tomorrow will jut be another reading day for me. Have to big a stack of books to be read for the world to end.
by Ruth Ayres December 20th, 2012 at 10:15 pmWell…Dec. 21st is actually a pretty darn special day for me anyway. I am a leukemia survivor. 14 years ago TODAY, I had a bone marrow transplant that saved my life. Some people call their transplant day their birthday….SO, my special day can’t be my last day. It will be a little bit of a celebratory day and it’s also the first day of 12 days off from work. PARTY!
